Daily activity:


Thursday 28th: water temp 81.5 SSW 3-5mph in the a.m. / SSW 8-14mph wind all afternoon until 5:00pm then switched to the SSW 4-6mph with 82.9 water temp. The water was clean. There were Spanish Mackerel and small Bonita in the morning and sporadic Spanish, several Bonita, Ladyfish and Hardtails in the afternoon. Three small Cobia were hanging around but the larger one was still short. A school of Tarpon swam by with no bites. 


Friday: water temp 82.6 SSW 5-8mph in the a.m. / 82.0 SW 5-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Two small Cobia were decked this morning. One was returned but the other went with the angler even though several fishermen told the individual it was not a legal sized fish. Spanish Mackerel, small Bonita and Ladyfish were caught although fewer than yesterday. Lots of Hardtails were caught. Danny caught a Pompano. Live bait was around but you had to work for it.


Saturday: water temp 82.0 SSW 10-12mph in the a.m. / 83.9 SW 14-18mph in the p.m. The water was clean.  Spanish Mackerel, Hardtails, a few small Bonita and Ladyfish were caught. Danny caught two Pompano. Live bait was available. Still No Kings,

  

Sunday: water temp 82.2 W 12-14mph in the a.m. / 82.9 W 11-16mph wind in the p.m. The water was slightly cloudy. Spanish Mackerel, Hardtails, a few small Bonita and Ladyfish were caught. A Cobia was hooked but lost. Live bait was available.

 

 


Monday: water temp 80.8 W 15-20mph in the a.m. / 82.6 W 9-15mph in the p.m.  The shallow water was dirty and the water off the end was silty. We caught Spanish Mackerel, small Bonita, Hardtails and Ladyfish. Live bait was available. 


Tuesday: water temp 79.7 N 5-8mph in the a.m. / 80.6 N 5-10mph in the p.m. The water was almost clean. Shallow water was still dingy. Spanish Mackerel, Hardtails and a few small Bonita were caught. Young angler Keegan, Rob’s grandson caught a nice Spanish. Just before sunset, Jose hooked a Tarpon while fishing for Spanish using a small Cigar Minnow. After a 45-minute battle, he popped the fish off. Live bait was available.

 

 


Wednesday 03rd: water temp 79.7 ENE 12-18mph in the a.m. /80.2 ENE 8-16mph in the p.m.  The water was clean. There were small Bonita, Spanish Mackerel and Hardtails all morning. The first King in almost two weeks was caught. Blake was casting his lure when the King hit. It was about 10 pounds. The afternoon brought more Spanish and a few Bonita. Lots of Hardtails were caught. About 4:00, two more small Kings were decked. Live bait was available.

 

 


 

Red Tide status: In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in one sample from Bay County.
